Faculty and Staff
The eleven faculty and five professional staff who make up the department bring a variety of expertise and professional experience from government and nonprofit organizations that make the department a rich learning laboratory. As teachers, the faculty constantly review the curriculum, revise course content, and update their teaching methods to include the latest innovations and theories. For example, the EOC lab represents a commitment to provide students exposure to the latest technology in disaster planning. As researchers, the faculty pursue an aggressive agenda of inquiry into the problems that affect the post-modern world: from improving the delivery of Medicare to city finances, enhancing the effectiveness of nonprofit boards to mitigating the effects of household hazardous wastes. As members of the community, the faculty devote time as board members, consultants, guest speakers, and advisors, all of which enrich their teaching and research.
